BIO

1987

His first international stage appearance was at the age of four, on Broadway in New York City alongside his grandfather in the hit show Flamenco Puro.

1992

He starred in the videoclip «Camarón Nuestro» with Camarón de la Isla under the direction of Ricardo Pachón.

1992

1995

At the age of 11, he was featured in the film Flamenco, produced by the legendary film director, Carlos Saura.

1995

He toured Europe and Japan.

1996

His show Raices Flamencas (Flamenco roots) debuted in the Royal Albert hall in London.

1996

He starred in a documentary about flamenco called Bodas de Gloria under the direction of  Ricardo Pachón.

2001

He was named the best artist to have set foot in the Big Apple (New York Times) after his performance of La Len Varo at the Flamenco Festival in USA.

2003

La crítica norteamericana también lo aclamó en su representación como artista principal en el espectáculo Por Derecho.

2003

He presented Alma Vieja at the Biennial of Seville at the Teatro de la Maestranza and he toured the world until 2006.

2003

The Academy of Music awarded him for his lyrics «Dulce Canela» from the album María de Niña Pastori and for the sound of his feet on the album tribute to Jeros.

2004

He was recognized as «Premio Público al Mejor Bailaor«, «Premio Flamenco Hoy al Mejor Bailaor«, and he won «El Telón Chivas04 al Mejor Intérprete de Danza» and «APDE 2004 al Depositario de la Herencia Flamenca«.

2006

He presented his show Farruquito Familia , and he toured Europe and Spain. The DVD recording was awarded the best of the year and he won the «Rosa de Bronce».

2008

He premiered his show Puro in the Palma Arena of Palma de Mallorca.

2010

He presented Sonerías at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville.

2011

He premiered his show Baile Flamenco and toured Europe and South America.

2012

Abolengo was awarded in October 2012 in Costa Rica. Farruquito invited Karime Amaya, granddaughter niece of the famous dancer Carmen Amaya to share the stage with him.

2014

He presented Pinacendá and he won the «Giraldillo» Dance Award at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla.

2015

He presented his show Improvisao.

2015

He presents a show called Tres Flamencos, together with his brothers Farru and El Carpeta.

2016

He presented his show Baile Moreno  and he toured Spain.

2017

He premiered his show Farruquito at the Botanical Garden in Madrid.

2018

After the good reception of the show, he toured America.

FAMILY

He is son of  Juan Fernández Flores “El Moreno” and  Rosario Montoya Manzano “La Farruca”, he is the eldest  of  four brothers Antonio “El Farru”, Manuel “El Carpeta” and Alegría.

Juan Manuel Fernández Montoya known as Farruquito is the grandson of the well-known flamenco dancer Farruco and the current continuator of this saga.

MUSIC

From his very first show he has been the composer of his own lyrics and music.

The Music Academy gave him a prize for his lyrics «Dulce Canela» of  Niña Pastori´s  album María and for the sound of feet in the Jero´s Tribute.

His music reflects the trace of his experiences and the purity where he grew up. It is full of messages and talks about the things he loves.
